Summer Fun

Blenheim Palace was the venue for a family picnic today. It was too hot if anything but moving into the shade of the trees, would have meant moving closer to the lake. Not a good idea with three small children who'd love nothing better than to 'go for a dip'!!

There was an enormous hay bale which provided great entertainment for two small boys who wanted to stand on top and then be chased around it. They soon discovered that it would be good fun to pretend to fall down.....and here they are having hysterics.

The house martins finished building their second nest. For those following the story of the house martins, the first nest dropped off the wall when it was almost completed. The very sad news is that the second one has now also dropped onto the flat roof below. I am scared to look if they had any eggs in it. My ready made one might now get a look in but I've sat and watched this evening and nothing yet.
