Just resting my eyes....

We are home; totally knackered but very happy after a fab weekend with the family. It's been great to all be together; we had some laughs!

We had to vacate our lodges by 10am (which seemed a bit early, especially since we were asked to clean the place before we left!!) so what to do with the rest of the day?

Off to Frankie and Bennys first for breakfast with everyone, then we went our separate ways.

Mr A & I decided to visit Lancaster, since it was such a lovely day it was a shame to waste it.

We called first to Ashton Memorial park to see the park and the Butterfly house. They also had a bird house, which is where we saw this sleepy head!

From there, we went into the city centre and up to the Castle, where we took the castle/prison tour. Photography wasn't allowed during the tour as it is still a working court, which was a shame as it was really interesting.
The tour guide was very enthusiastic and told some good stories about the Pendle Witches and also about the hangings that used to take place there.
Definitely worth a visit.

This weekend has allowed me to try old things (trampolining) and new things (kayaking).
Mr A & I enjoyed the kayaks so much, we are looking into places we can go to do it again; we've even seen tandem ones we could use!

So thanks to the Ashley's for having me along, especially to Laura who arranged it all, and of course to Mr A for adding more memories to our life together.

:-)
