Glittering Violet

This a violet ground beetle; when you catch it in the right light the edges of it's wing cases sparkle violet.(You can just about see it, although it looks more red than violet...!)

It's a rather impressive beetle when observed up close, not only for it's colour, but also for it's size.

It's been really hot today so even the lizards were making a frequent appearance which was good to see.
