Space for Cycling

I had decided to do a Parkrun this morning so cycled to Platt Fields to do the South Manchester one. Only 18.5km as a warm-up! On arriving, I was a little worried as they appeared to be setting up a carnival in the park, I needn't have worried as an alternative 3 lap course was in place.

I ran as well as I could, but just failed to get under 21 minutes! The goal is to go sub 20 this year and I've flat-lined. A new training strategy and less cake is needed. It was hot and I was sweating profusely at the end. The duck pond was half appealing! Sense prevailed and I cycled over to Salford Quays, via Old Trafford, instead. The home of Man Utd was full of Chinese tourists doing Winston Churchill V signs in front of the stadium's modern façade. I should have taken a box of cigars and sold them at highly inflated rates!

At the quays, I locked my bike up beside Andy's massage table, took my cycling top off to reveal my spandex one-piece tri-suit, still saturated in sweat from the earlier Parkrun. Hat n goggles on and I was soon swimming round the dock, wetsuitless for the 1st time this year.

1500m done, I came out to dry in the sun (took my diddy rucksack so no room for towel) and then cycled to Eighth-Day to get some veggie treats for lunch. Wowza....only 8 minutes to get to the station for my train! I just made it!

After a quick shower and lunch, I fell asleep for the next 3.5 hours! Woops! Sometimes I head to the Cornerhouse on a weekend when I'm not with Rosemary but I didn't fancy any of the films. Rather, I had a wee camera walkabout in town but never got any great shots!
