I spent most of the longest day of the year in the Usher Hall at two graduation ceremonies - it was overcast outside, but terribly warm and humid. As Elaine pointed out, academic dress was designed for draughty medieval cathedrals. And was certainly not intended to be made of polyester.
The day was broken up by an enjoyable, if rather hurried, lunch nearby where Mr H joined us - this was the view from the balcony and we spent some time trying to figure out what buildings some of these rooftops belonged to.
Once we got back to Leith we went for a nice meal in the Vintage and then collapsed on the sofa to listen to some football.
