Eldest child was dropped home after her sleepover last night and then I had to march her right back again as she left most of her clothes behind! On the way back I bumped into one of the school mums and after a quick chat it turned out her daughter was having a bad time at school and my youngest daughter had caused some of the upset. So I went home to try and help sort the problem out. Ended up taking my 8 year old to her friends house so we could talk it through. Turns out one of the girls that I've never been keen on is indeed a trouble maker. At age 8 she knows how to manipulate her peers to get them into trouble whilst she gets away with it. Plus she lies; basically the type of person I go out of my way to avoid but now she's chosen my child to use as her pawn. So both of us Mum's had to sit and explain to the girls that if they stick together and to tell their anti-bullying councillor when she is saying nasty things (she says you smell) to tell them straight away and not to retaliate so that she gets them into trouble. Oh the playground politics of 8 year olds!!! This is my first experience of this and I hope we've managed to deal with it ok.
Mr S went to his parents this afternoon to organise their trip to the car show tomorrow. Miss S and I stayed home watching films. She definitely had a late night so I stuck with the easy option of a quiet day at home with her. She wanted to watch an 'adult' film, so I let her watch iRobot as even though it's a 15, there is no sex scenes, hardly and swearing and isn't too scary. She thought she was all grown up being able to watch it and said 'oh, he said shit' and giggled a couple of times. She completely missed them saying asshole, but giggled when he said shit!!
