Little River Rail Trail Longest Night

Traditionally this 44 km return ride from Motukarara to Little River is done at night without the aid of illumination, on the longest night of the year. In the interests of safety we used lights this time. This is from my 1100 lumen light.

We had a headwind on the way back but this suddenly turned into an extreme tailwind at about the time that I took this photo. We were on the last part of the journey by this time, and after we got home headed to The Milanese restaurant in Prebbleton for a nice meal.

I am not used to riding the mountain bike, and in fact had to remove the cobwebs from it. Feel a bit sore now. It will have another outing in 12 months time.
