Midsummer evening

We set off to find St Austin's Stone at Drewton (formerly Druid's Town). This is a standing stone where the Druids performed their sacrifices (mostly animals, but possibly humans on special occasions), and later where St Augustine preached and performed baptisms. It is still a magic site today: every seven years a large piece of stone breaks off, and then grows back again.

Today the stone is in a wooded valley with a fence all around it and, try as we might, we couldn't get a glimpse of it. So I took a picture of the evening sky instead.
