Longest day

Where did spring go? After what seemed like a very short season, suddenly it is mid-summer and the longest day of the year. It must have been a beautiful dawn over Stonehenge for the solstice celebrators this morning, as it was in deepest Sussex where we awoke to a perfect morning of balmy cloudlessness.

As I came past the village pond this evening, these little ducks caught my eye. I love the patterns they were making in the water as they swam under the vibrant light of the setting sun. Looking forward to a long warm summer day in the garden tomorrow, hopefully.
