Summer Solstice...
If any ageing, infirm hippies weren't able to make it to Stonehenge to do the longest day/shortest night thing, they could have done worse than head to Chorlton Green where the suburb's ageing hippies had gathered to watch the sun rise and celebrate all day. Chorlton has a fair few ageing hippies, someone has to eat all that organic couscous.
During the day it's all children's rides, BBQ and beer. This evening the music takes over, this year having a Brazilian theme with Samba music. Any idea why people? It all culminates as the sun sets with the spectacular Fire Dancers. All very pagan and old religion.
It was easy to find as it was written all over the pavements.
