Portobello Beach

After an excellent free walking tour around Edinburgh (so good my mum even stayed for the whole thing when she had expected to slope off halfway through!) we caught the bus to the coast for a gorgeous sunny afternoon in Portobello. I had hoped we would have a visit to the beach but never banked on this hot weather! I read that the 99 ice cream was apparently invented in Portobello which swung the choice of destination so we obviously indulged!

We headed back to our holiday home with a very out of the way stroll and late afternoon drink in Stockbridge before meeting fellow blipper Ellie and Russell for dinner at an Italian local to where we were staying. Great pizza and another scoop of ice cream brought a lovely day to a close!
