Midsummer Moon.
Today is Summer Solstice, the longest day. It heralds the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the timing depends on when the sun reaches it's farthest point, north of the Equator. Midsummer day, near the Solstice which was 6-51 am this morning, was said to make old people look younger, although I'm still waiting for it to happen (I'm sure it will) Walking barefoot in the dew would keep one's skin from chapping. I have done this in my young days with friends but this morning, having no garden, I didn't fancy trampling in my balcony pots ! I took several shots at around 1-30 am as I noticed the unusual colour of the moon when I woke up and went to open my window wider. I have a problem with noise from nearby pigeons so only open them slightly. I suppose there will be celebrations at Stonehenge, although it is now fenced off to the public.
