The end of the oranges

The last few remaining bitter oranges on the trees in Athens came down in last week's rain. There don't seem to be any street cleaners any more ('austerity' measures have included massive public services cuts) so I imagine the oranges will remain piled up like this for a long time, gradually rotting.
