Temperature Rising

Had lunch up the mountain today with Stevie and Jan. His Jan is taking my Jan's temperature with a new-fangled gadget that reads your temperature by simply pressing it against your forehead. Oddly, it announces your temperature in French.

This table, by the way, is where Fin heard the story of what happened with the ditching of the plane in "The Chessmen". I never eat there now without the sense that the scene in the book actually happened.
