Iris ensata ‘Lion King’
These saucer-sized blossoms sit atop 3 foot stems in the garden. We have them planted along the stream and in some other very damp areas of the garden, they can also be grown in large pots set in water. These plants do like moisture, an acid soil and plenty of sun. Huge flowers, very narrow leaves, late bloom are characteristics of the Japanese iris. On, and they are fragrant as well.
NOTE: These giant iris may also be listed as Iris kaempferi.
