Today I had the chance to meet some literary folks at the Raul Porras institute in Lima. I didn't understand everything they were saying, but this man very warmly wished me luck as I left. He's a peruvian poet.

Yesterday I saw an exhibition of photographer Mario Testino's work here in Lima. The photos were all portraits, picturing famous people like Princess Diana and Kate Moss, but also indians from the Andes. In a quote Testino said something about photographers having to be practical about their work - "less reflective and more proactive".

Lately I've become really interested in photographing people, but I'm still far too shy. And reflective - that's exactly what's keeping me from being actually productive. Testino's quote seems like a very good piece of advice.
