The Irish
Part of the fading sign on the long defunct Green Ink Irish bookshop;-part of a desolate, closed parade of shops along the back of Archway Mall, in a gloomy, windswept passage leading under the tower to the back entrance of the tube station.
But all this might be about to change.
The wind blight is caused by Archway Tower and the developers who are set on converting that to rented flats have muttered about dealing with it.
Hamlyn House, the 70s office block over the library, is set to become a Premier Inn - imagine Archway as a tourist destination!
Another firm of developers have recently acquired the third office block - Hill House - and are planning to convert it into flats for sale. They also now own the Mall and are making plans to revitalise it.
It would be nice to have some life there but I'm rather fond of this sign so thought I'd blip it before it disappears.
