My life

Another petunia

A day of catching up with housework today, the threatened rain didn't come so windows open wide to blow some fresh air into the house.

A brief visit from a friend this afternoon to drop off my birthday gift as she will be on holiday next week. This time twelve months ago was the first day of our holiday to celebrate my 'big birthday'. I know that it is ridiculous -it's only a number after all -but I really struggled with turning 50 and kept the occasion as low key as possible.
Twelve months on and I realise that it has made little difference to me, I don't feel any different or any older than I was before, there is nothing I can't do now that I couldn't do then, and people don't treat me any differently. I can now happily own up to being 'in my 50's'

This flower caught my eye in the garden tonight maybe because it's colouring is similar to the English flag, I went out to water the flowers during the England football match versus Uruguay -while I was outside England equalised with a goal by Rooney, unfortunately before the end Louis Suarez scored a second for Uruguay, more than likely ending England's hopes of going any further in the competition.
