ESSEX SKIPPER (Thymelicus lineola)
I went for a walk this morning around the newly formed nature park in the village.
This is a picture of a male Essex skipper. The black line on top of the forewing is a scent gland used to attract the females. There was a lot of bee activity as well, I was spoilt for choice!!
I went swimming with a friend in the afternoon. When I returned I watered all the tubs and pots in the garden.
Tomorrow we are going to Somerset for a week. I'm not sure if I will have internet connection - if not I will catch up when we get back.
