Dentelles

Yet another beautiful Provence day and supposedly we were starting early so that we could get back early and enjoy the Last afternoon in paradise.

But, we got going late as usual! Today, off to Beame de Venise and the Dentelles and surrounds.

Lovely drive and then by 1 we arrived at the small but very beautiful village of Suzette, first visiting this church, a very very old church! Being hungry we stopped at the only restaurant in the village, not super cheaper (22 euro per main) but oh so divine! And to cap it off, right beside the grapevines with views of the Dentelles.

So a beautiful lunch and then off to circumnavigate the Dentelles and visit a few villages. Next stop Crestet, a fantastic Village Perche, so old and so amazing. But frankly I wonder why people live in these old houses, I can’t imagine they are that comfortable, or accessible!

Back in the car and off to Gigondas, a renowned wine center apparently. So of course we tried some wine, in fact many! All really fantastic and interesting, despite being only 20km away for Ventoux, an average of 10-12 euro as opposed to 4-6. Sure, slightly better but both are great. Even had Chateau Neuf du Pape for tasting. Pretty nice, but 20 euro, bought a bottle for an occasion.

And finally, back to the house, a last swim, dinner, some packing, and bed. It’s been fantastic, but it’s time to leave and explore new places!
