Adelaide Oval City bridge

Today on our return from our blipmeet with Hrubs, we stopped by the new Adelaide Oval footbridge over the River Torrens. This shot was taken from the Memorial drive end, right by the Southern entrance to the new Adelaide Oval. (Here is the link to Paladian's photo from our blip meet.)

This bridge has just been completed and helps to create the seminal Adelaide walking experience between North Terrace, past our Parliament (the House of the People), past the Casino (the House of Hope and Despair), past the Festival Centre (the House of Fun), then crossing to the ultimate House of Sport – the famous Adelaide Oval.

When I first looked at this photo it reminded me of an architect's drawing of the precinct, but in fact this is real.

Better in large.

If you have time, you can read an article here about the building of this bridge.
