My New Old Bedside Table

Arrived yesterday. I fiddled about with it, varnishing it & then sanding it then varnishing it again with dark varnish then wiping most of it off .........to make it look as old as the other one. It is already old, but not as old as the one on Chris's side. Got them both on eBay. I didn't want a matching pair but they need to go together and I'm really pleased with the result.

Took Charlie for a long walk and at the end we met another cocker spaniel puppy and they went crazy together for about 20 minutes. It was really sweet. As a result Charlie spent most of the afternoon flaked out, exhausted.

Had a long reading session with both Betsy and Al. Al and I are nearing the end of Northern Lights which is really exciting. Betsy and I are reading The Choir. I thought she would enjoy the politics and the ethical questions it raises about politics and religion. And so far she is.
