Leaving California

We took off from San Francisco at about 8pm local time (4am in the UK on the 18th). As the sun set we were treated to this brief but beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada.

Later in the flight, as we were flying over Wyoming, we were able to watch a stunning lightening storm off the left side of the aircraft. Many of the passengers who had window seats were enjoying the show. I've seen storms from the air from time to time, but never one this large or lengthy. I would have loved to have taken some pictures but my humble iPhone wasn't quite up to that!
