I was visiting the Judicial Institute this morning to meet Sheriffs Welsh and Duff to hear about their work. They have an impressive training suite to support and train the judiciary - including the Justices of the Peace who have a voluntary background.

While our respective structures are different there are many areas of common interest and interface between the two systems.

It was then back to the office for a constructive Training Reference Group where we considered how to best progress advice on what is needed.

And all on a very hot day. It was more grey early in the morning when I passed Greyfriars Bobby. His nose was painted black some months back but very quickly the refurbishment was removed and the buffed shiny nose reappeared to be rubbed. Does not distract from the soulful eyes.
