Famous Poles
This is the museum of famous poles, as viewed from the site of the old church, in the old town of Lublin.
Inside, you will find many poles. My favourites included the North Pole, the legendary Telegraph Pole of Knopfler and the Great Pole of Kiev - the inspiration for Mussorgsky's follow up to 'Pictures at an Exhibition', tentatively titled 'Portraits at a Gallery' before he decided that it was a stupid idea, and that sequels just don't work.
In other corners, I spotted the East and West poles, beloved of Christopher Robin. But we won't talk about those.
And in a small niche at the back, I noticed a gnome of Lech Walesa. Not sure what he was doing there, but he was holding a fishing rod.
