Oh bother! (Or similar phrase)

No one told us there was a train strike! We had already taken the ferry across to Varenna where the station is before we found out. We had to pay 130 euros for a taxi to Milan. Luckily the intercity trains were still running so we caught the right train to Stresa on Lake Maggiore. A suitable journey for the date :-)
