Contrails
Contrails (short for "condensation trails") or vapour trails are made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air they may precipitate a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise tiny ice crystals. Wiki
Conditions have to be just right for these to occur. Last night, on my drive home from my daughter's house, there were half a dozen of them in the sky. It looked eerie and creeped me out a bit. I can't remember the last time I've seen them and they were all right in front of me as I headed west on the toll road. They appeared to be going in all directions, up, down, left, right. Of course, this is not a great shot through my filthy windshield with my little point & shoot. But it's all I've got for today.
I'm feeling under-the-weather, even took myself to be checked and got some meds. That was Tuesday night and I'm not really sure things are getting back on track...ugh. I hate the feeling of being unwell. But the good news is I think my trusty DSLR is en-route home to me. And it better have a clean-like-new sensor.
