Inner Sense

Palmed off

Proof, if further proof were needed, that British Columbia is not the frozen wasteland that many think of being the norm in Canada. Here is a palm tree flourishing on our patio, with, in the distance, a huge conifer of some sort (I am still an amateur at distinguishing between cedars, pines and the like).

This was taken toward the end of a busy day. This time it was one of errands. We decided to get some better garden tools and explored the island's stores. One of the garden centres proved best but we did check out the lumber yards too. (More raised beds to come!). I would like to be looking for power tools, or even hi-fi or computer equipment but that means a ferry ride. It is an adjustment that we are making: living on a small island and depending as much as possible on what is available locally.
