Morning Mist

I first saw this rose in my friend Elizabeth’s garden. I loved the peachy-coppery flowers. She gave me the name, and I went in search. I have a special place in my heart for single roses, which have a simple natural loveliness. This, pretty informal rose, not really a climber, but a bit gawky in habit, is a repeat bloomer from David Austin . It opens from a deep salmon bud and fades into an apricot pink and yellow flower. It blooms on new wood, so a good haircut in the late winter is a good idea. Since it has pretty orange hips, you don’t want to rush this process.
