It's mine, all mine!

Apart from the owners and staff, the creature most perturbed by the recent fire at the China Palace was the local gull (Stewart, for historical reasons) who used to hang about their back door waiting for someone to drop a scrap of seafood on their way to the store room or fail to close the bin lid completely.

He couldn't have been more delighted when one of the neighbourhood wheelie bins lost its lid last week, so that now he can stand like the king of the castle, picking at the smelly contents.
