War Memorial In The Making

Maddiston Community Council is having a new war memorial built to mark the centenary of the start of the Great War. This is the start of the memorial, and I expect that it is awaiting a plaque that will contain the name of locals who died in the war.

One might speculate that there are many pointers suggesting another major war is imminent - let us hope that that is just pessimistic and that we will not be needing a whole array of new war memorials any time soon.
