The Drones Are Coming
I've been followed around by this thing all day, filming my every move. Should I be worried?
In truth, one of the club members turned up with this at the 20-20 game tonight, filming some of the match. It's an amazing bit of technology. Using the camera you can even control it when it's completely out of sight. I've been thinking up all sorts of possible uses. A little project has already been planned. And all for a cost comparable to a single good lens.
There's no license required to fly these craft at the moment but it's hard to imagine that controls won't be put in place before too long. The in-built GPS technology is very clever though. Apparently it is able to detect if you are near to an airport, in which instance the flight controls are disabled. Probably just as well!
We lost the weekend game on the very last ball and after a thrilling and always well-balanced match the same thing happened tonight. The scores became tied on 170 when Forrest unfortunately mis-fielded to give an extra run away. The opposition then scrambled the winning run off the last ball. It was horrible to watch. The lads needed a boost tonight. I was really deflated despite the entertaining cricket. And poor Forrest is beside himself. It's such a cruel game that I do often feel guilty about getting the boys so involved. Too late now. It's become a way of life for the both of them.
