Angles and lines

I have had to buy a new camera but at least I am back! But not without some hassle! My laptop then broke down so a trip to Currys PC World was unavoidable. Their man put it right on the spot but said my computer was past the use by date. I refuse to buy another right now so I shall plod on until it really gives up on me.

All systems go on the farm with this window of dry weather. Silage now finished with added input by contractors which was a nuisance but at least the grass is now all under cover. T and B and N have been mowing the remainder so we can make some hay, so fingers crossed. It is always a stressful time managing the grass with teams of people rushing around pulling trailers, hold ups with machinery breaking down, punctures and willing the rain to keep off until the last hay bale is under cover. We hope to pick up the hay in a few days time when it has completely dried out. This year the nutritional quality of the silage is pretty low which means in the winter we will have to feed the cattle more cake and other foodstuffs to make up for it.

The maize was planted under appalling conditions but it seems to be coming up in neat rows. We shall tell in a few days time whether that will continue to grow healthily. The heat is helping a lot. Long may it continue. Cloudiness doesn't matter because we don't want the corn to dry up at this stage.
