Orphanage in Phnom Penh

Busy day today. This morning we took the kids to the royal palace which are a series of silver and golden pagodas.

This afternoon we went to an orphanage in the city. It had 80 children from 5 to 18. They were lovely and our kids mixed well with them all afternoon. We took food, stickers, pens, books and some money to donate. All the kids there spoke English and so we had a mini disco with the younger ones and musical statues and chairs. The older ones just went off and chatted for an hour or so. I hope it made it made an impact on our students (I think it did). This picture shows Nick (the other teacher on the trip) playing the hand clapping game.

If anyone is interested it was the lighthouse orphanage run by the ray of light foundation.
