Oxford
I have visited Oxford a few times now, but I never feel like I spend long enough here.
We got a very kind and generous offer to head down to Oxford for a formal on the weekend. Rob and I arrived a bit earlier and spent an hour or so catching up with Rosie (a friend from Berlin) which was wonderful, and then it was quick change and off to Teddy Hall. One of the best colleges for formals, we were told. It certainly didn't disappoint; dinner was wonderful. We even got a tour around the college afterwards.
The next day poured with rain during the morning, so we got a rather soggy tour around Haikal's college (New College). The photo here is of the cloisters. The weather thankfully brightened up while we met up with the other Oxford floorballers for brunch, just in time for punting. Punting was so much fun, but so difficult! I gave it a go but turned out to be utterly useless, so sat back and let the boys do all the hard work.
After that we reconvened for lunch and had a picnic in Trinity College gardens - you can definitely see why everyone wants to go there. It dawned on me how the only way to really see Oxford properly is to have an insider from the colleges. We were very lucky to have several that were kind enough to show us around. The boys went off to play floorball while I had a short wander round exploring the city before we had to drive home.
