Earlsdon

This small suburb of Coventry was probably the first off-campus part of Coventry I have been to. I had to come here during my first week of stay in the UK since I needed to open a bank account with HSBC (HSBC Earlsdon branch closed a year ago and so my account is with HSBC Coventry now). I had just known that this is where Frank Whittle, the jet engine pioneer, was born and grew up. A statue of Frank Whittle can also be seen in front of the Coventry Tranport Museum, right in front of the main entrance to Pool Meadow Bus Station.

I had to go to the city centre today hoping to be able to find a cheap pair of fit flops from Primark and to get some fresh air since i have been having this terrible headache since i woke up this morning. To my disapppointment, i saw fitflops, they were cheap (@ 1.50GBP), but their smallest size was still too large for my feet. I had to retreat, bought some hot wings from KFC, coffee from Starbucks and headed back to Leamington. The headache did not leave me even in the late afternoon and i had to miss dinner with my labmates.
