A unique interaction
Watched a very interesting interaction between a buck, a doe and a turkey vulture. There's a dead rabbit in the field, and the vulture arrived to feast on it. A buck and doe appeared out of the forest and approached the vulture, which flew onto nearby rocks. The buck sniffed the carcass, all the while keeping a close eye on the vulture. The vulture kept an eye on the buck as well. Both the buck and doe moved closer to the vulture, making snorting noises. The doe picked up speed and scared the vulture off. She then had a turn at sniffing the carcass. There must be a fawn in the forest and the vulture alarmed the deer.
The vulture will be back.
This was certainly a unique interaction to witness. I've never seen anything like it and don't expect that I ever will again.
I'm catching my breath from the weekend and will catch up with commenting soon.
