The Exhibition
Under normal circumstances, it would take a herd of wild horses -- well, maybe just a couple -- to drag me to a shopping mall, but I willingly spent seven hours at the Cascade Mall in Burlington today!
The NCWA (Northwest Corner Woodworkers Association) was having its annual exhibition of members' work this weekend, and I volunteered to help. Wearing an official NCWA work apron -- with embroidered club logo -- I stood around and talked shop with other members, welcomed curious visitors, watched one of our members demonstrate how to hand-cut a dovetail joint, and finally helped haul the exhibits out of the mall. I was very impressed by the quantity and quality of items on display.
One of the NCWA activities I'm looking forward to participating in is the Toys for Tots program. You can see samples of toys made by members in the photo.
