Happy Father's Day

To celebrate Father's Day we decided to drive down to Balboa Park and visit San Diego's zoo.

We called in at Encinitas on the way for a nice little brunch stop (and a celebratory chocolate bacon lollipop).

We were fortunate to have Elliot, a work colleague of mine, as a tour guide so we had the insight on where to go and what not to miss (he has visited the zoo 'thousands of times').

From bus tours to Skyfaris (cable cars across the park), it's fair to say we did pretty much everything. There's little doubt that San Diego zoo is the best zoo we've ever visited.

It was great to see how well the wee man recognised his animals too.

If only he could stay awake the whole day...

I hope all the dads enjoyed their day today. I know I did. I certainly miss my dad though.
