My little yellow digger

Today at school to start book week off with a bang they had dress as your favorite book character day.

Conveniently mar wanted to go as the little yellow digger - easy!! i thought, i have boxes, so i stacked one on another, taped it together and cut it all out. Tacked on a shoe box cut into the shape of a digger bucket and voila! . We spent yesterday building and painting and it was actually a lot of fun.

I did have to get the hair dryer out this morning to try dry the last few bits that were wet which didn't quite work as he was lining up he'd got some paint on his hand and rubbed his eyes.

A lot of the other kids had some amazing costumes, there were a lot of spidermen and batmen though.

Once the bell rang he lined up with his class as did the rest of the school, they then had a parade year by year. Once they all finished the teacher had to choose two from their class to go in the middle of the court yard and the principal who was amazingly dressed as Alice from wonderland chose one from each class (or maybe it was year ie out of all year 1 i can't remember) to win a prize and Marley won!!!.

Unfortunately I missed it ugh i had to take Kanye to the doctors so I didn't see it but I'm sure his teacher got pictures.

When I arrived at this afternoon 15 mins before school finished mar was helping his teacher write a message on the board outside the class he saw me and excitedly ran to me saying 'i won mama I got a prize!!' I could not have been more proud and happy for him, his whole face was lit up as he showed me the book he got as a prize.

I'm really happy i could help him create this costume for him. What a great day for him, he talked all the way home about being in the parade and then he talked about zombies then back to parade then about dogs night time routine apparently they have bones for dinner then have a shower and get their pj's on for bed. Hmmm that would be interesting to see and kind of makes me pleased we don't have a dog as i can imagine this would HAVE to happen with mar alongside the dog. Washing kids every night and getting their pj's on is tiresome let alone having to incorporate a dog.

Kanye is ok, still feverish and angry at the whole world, tired and miserable but not scratching. The doctor said he's on the mend and while there's a mild infection on some spots he felt it too late to prescribe antibiotics as the others were healing - a good sign.

So all in all a pretty cool day!
