LONE TREE

Who would have believed that you could grow a huge tree out of solid rock? Well seeing (sometimes) is believing. This tree, and many others like it, were literally growing...root structure above ground, out of solid rocks along side the slot canyon at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, a little north of Abluquerque.

Kathy and I, along with my son Dave, his wife Faith and my granddaughter Kayla all hiked the narrow, steep, rocky and difficult trail to get to the top of the plateau that overlooks some of the most amazing rock formations that occur naturally in this park. It was great to spend Father's Day with my family, and enjoy these natural wonders together.
