Noltland castle

This is one mean castle. Small and very atmospheric.

Built by a man who was obviously very paranoid. Over 60 gun holes and built for defense. Gilbert Balfour must have been a pretty interesting geezer. Murder, political intrigue, betrayal, royal assasinations, fleeing the country... the usual stuff for a 16th century Scottish nobleman.

Those Swedish blippers might be interested to know that after being driven out of Scotland for various misdemeanours he took refuge in Sweden where he was executed for plotting to kill the king of Sweden. Seems to have been a habit of his.

The boys loved it... of course they did, it's a castle.
