Clean Sweep

Sunday night & the end of another fab weekend.

A bit of a retrospective blip today....

Last night we went to Manchester with Laura & Steve for a street market with a difference; it was all food stalls! The vendors were all competing for a place in the final of the Street Eats competition which will take place in Leeds in August.
The idea was to try the food and vote for the favourite; the winner would then go through to the finals.

The only flaw in this was that there were 16 stalls. So not only would you have be Adam Richman (Man vs Food) to sample the lot, you would need a second mortgage to pay for it all as it wasn't that cheap.

We thought it would have been a better idea to charge an entrance fee, then offer taster dishes rather than a full meal. That would have been fairer for voting.

Our collective votes went to Mama K's kitchen; traditional tex mex food. The choice was either a burrito or a taco shell, with as many fillings/toppings as you liked for £5....bargain. Steve and I went for the taco's with everything in, but I got 2 forks so that I could share mine with Mr A. It was simply divine; we were craving it again today!

Mama K herself was from Phoenix Arizona originally, so we took the liberty of quizzing her on places to visit when we go in September.

From there Mr A took us on a city tour, to see the castle at Castlefield and also the vimto monument, which is on the site where the original factory was back in 1908.

Today has been a pottering day. Stuff sorted and put in the loft, then Mr A off to see his Dad (mine is on holiday for 2 weeks) and me to my sisters where I had a very snuggly little Theo.

A chilled out evening planned with Mr A & a movie. Ace :-)

Today's blip (since technically I'm not allowed to blip from yesterday) is of the very soggy broom in the garden (which the slugs seem to have taken shine to!)
