Gardening at Polesden Lacey
After the excitement of yesterday it was a slightly quieter day today! Mum and I went to Polesden Lacey and spent most of our time in the gardens. Like last week, there were gardeners at work and this particular lady was putting new plants in a corner of the walled garden. Within this are several areas of roses and to the north a vegetable area. There is also an enclosure with free range chickens of different breeds which is always good to see. They lay on average 4-6 eggs a day according to the information board.
As it was Father's Day, it was jam packed there. I think over half the local area and the London suburbs were there - never seen it so busy. Polesden Lacey is one of the larger National Trust properties and is open all year round with plenty to see and do.
