The Big Ferry

Down at Tarbert today for our usual Sunday visit to friends, the sky behind us was blue and the sun warm on our backs. I liked the contrast between the gathering clouds behind the ferry and the brightness of the water with the strong reflections , so typical of the Argyll light.

This summer they have replaced the wee ferry with this enormous one which seems to completely take over the harbour. If you look very closely at the large view you can see very few passengers, the last time we watched the ferry take on passengers it seemed very under - used. Still the powers that be make the decisions and if using the big ferry is not cost effective then who shoulders the cost?
