Another Heath Fritillary

I hope this isn't boring you.

Warm in Blean Wood today but a bit breezy and mainly overcast, so I wasn't expecting to see many butterflies. I was wrong. Lots of these Fritillaries about, also Ringlets, which must have emerged in the last few days, because they are the first I've seen this year. Mainly, the Fritillaries were resting in the grass waiting for the sun. When the sun did break through for a few minutes the butterflies would start to flutter about, quartering their territory; in the long dull cloudy periods they would often be still. This enabled me to get quite close.

I took many photos but this was the clear winner of a mini referendum at home.
