Frilly Fungi
It's gone from one extreme to the other! Lots of possible blips to few possible blips; hot sun to cold rain; blue skies to grey ones - the holiday is definitely over:-)
Wandered up the garden to see what was new, but didn't expect to find several species of fungi adorning the grass in the middle of June. I rather liked this frilly one which looked like a chanterelle, but I wasn't prepared to risk finding out it wasn't!
More visits from the woodpecker family and also the first sighting of two goldfinches in many months. They were eating the seeds of the "Amethyst in Snow" cornflower, which the bees also love when it's in full flower, so a useful plant for wildlife as well as a pretty addition to the border.
