Mont St Michel
Stopped here for a quick blip on our drive from Canterbury to Dover, then the boat to Dunkirk, followed by a long hot drive west to Brittany. How different Mont St Michel is now from when we last came with our girls over thirty years ago - then we drove straight there, parked and walked up the street to the church on the top. Now the enormous car park is some miles away and people are bussed there. I can only imagine how crowded and unpleasant the little streets must be. I had a distant blip and left.
Our little gites are delightful, only our three in the grounds of the owners' chateau. There is a lovely garden and trampoline for the little ones and lots of animals. There are some pretty peacocks which keep squawking. Tomorrow we'll explore - tonight we are all tired after long drives. Poor little Ella - the lift on the boat closed its door while her fingers were in it, and it took ages and much bleeding and crying till she was released.
