Good Food, Good Company
It was not a good day for outdoor photography. Fortunately we'd made a reservation for dinner at Ciao Thyme in the Kitchen. This is a catering company which runs hands-on-and-eat cooking classes, and has occasional dinners, by reservation only. C was always a good cook, but has enjoyed taking some of their classes, and her cooking continues to improve -- to the detriment of my no-longer youthful figure.
Mataio and Jessica, the owners, had recently returned from a trip to the Umbrian region of Italy with their two young sons. It was a combination family vacation and an opportunity to stock up on olive oil, lentils, and other food supplies. No surprise that the dinner menu was all Umbrian (and included lentils). It was hearty, delicious peasant food, accompanied by well matched Italian wines.
I love coincidences! The people seated across the table from us had been looking for eagles at the same time and in the same area as we had the day before. They only saw one eagle, which was one of the three that we'd seen. We found plenty of other things to talk about and the evening passed too quickly.
