A first birthday cake at 78!

Granddad was 78 yesterday (school night) and so we visited today for a belated celebration. And sleep over x2.

Harry wanted (quite rightly) to take a cake. Waitrose helped out. H then added our entire candle supply - 27!
Not 78 but it still took a while.....and maybe 78 candles would not have fitted.....

It turned out, post "Happy Birthday" and candle blowing out, that this was Granddad's first birthday cake EVER!!
A war child..and then naughty Nan (for not making more effort).

So, we were quite pleased we had made the effort....and H is still amazed that you could be that old and not have had a birthday cake. Not ever!
